About the Role:
Reporting to the Regional Manager, you’ll lead and grow a team of talented scientists working on diverse Inland Waters consulting projects across WA. Our talented Inland waters team work across the disciplines of aquatic ecology, environmental chemistry, hydrology and geomorphology, often delivering innovative solutions to our clients.
This is a strategic, client-facing role where you’ll be responsible for:
· Leading high-quality technical delivery across environmental and ecological projects.
· Mentoring and developing scientists across all levels of experience.
· Managing multidisciplinary project teams, budgets, and timelines.
· Overseeing tenders, proposals, scientific reports, and associated feedback.
· Driving business development, growing client relationships, and expanding our market reach within the team.
· Shaping the Inland Waters team’s future direction in WA and contributing to a national strategy.
· Occasionally undertaking fieldwork in remote areas and supporting field staff.
What You Bring:
Essential:
· 10+ years’ experience in a relevant Inland Waters science, with 5+ years in consultancy (ideally WA-based).
· Strong technical background and experienced Project Manager.
· Proven ability to lead projects, manage budgets, and inspire high-performing teams.
· Excellent client management and business development skills.
· Deep knowledge of WA and national environmental legislation (EP Act, EPBC Act, Mining Act).
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
· Passion for mentoring and developing others.
