Hydrobiology, part of SLR, part of SLR Consulting, is delighted to celebrate Ciara Fegredo, who has been shortlisted for the Australian Subsea Business Awards, Women in Subsea Energy Award (WISE – Women in Subsea & Energy).
As an early-career marine scientist, Ciara is already making an impressive contribution to Australia’s subsea sector. Her work spans complex offshore decommissioning projects, deep-water environmental risk assessment, benthic habitat characterisation, ecotoxicology and the application of emerging tools such as eDNA.
Just as importantly, Ciara is passionate about supporting the next generation of marine scientists. Through teaching at The University of Western Australia, mentoring colleagues and her involvement with Australian Marine Sciences Association (WA) and Women in Ocean Sciences, she has helped connect students and early-career scientists with opportunities across industry, government and academia.
As a proud member of Subsea Energy Australia since 2020, we have a long-standing connection with Australia’s subsea and offshore energy sector, providing independent marine science, environmental risk assessment and technical expertise across the project lifecycle – from environmental approvals and operations through to decommissioning and rehabilitation.
