Trang from Hydrobiology attended the Science Meets Business 2017 (SmB2017) as SETAC AU representative. SmB2017 is an annual event of Science and Technology Australia where business sectors including national and international corporates, entrepreneurs, and venture capitalists together with Australian pioneers in research; commercialisation and scientists discuss how to translate and apply their knowledge and experiences. The meeting was held at Dr Chau Chak building, the stellar building by Frank Gehry that epitomises ‘thinking outside the box’ for UTS business students.
As a researcher who has had significant hands-on experience with research and development at The University of Queensland, Trang recently moved to work for Hydrobiology Pty Ltd where the focus is technical excellence and high-level scientific expertise delivered within a commercial framework. The SmB2017 was an outstanding opportunity for Trang to learn and share the approaches of engaging and collaborating with business sectors and government authorities.
