On June 8th, Hydrobiology proudly recognised and supported “World Ocean Day”- a global movement that unites people and organisations in the mission to protect and restore our blue planet. This day holds special significance for Hydrobiology, as it serves to raise awareness of the vital importance of healthy oceans and the collective action needed to safeguard them for the future of our planet.
World Ocean Day is not only a global celebration but also a time to reflect on the critical role oceans play in sustaining life on Earth, the challenges they face, and the responsibility we all share to respect, protect, and conserve them. Since its global coordination began in 2002, World Ocean Day has grown from a single concept into a worldwide initiative involving over 2,000 organisations across 180 countries—reaching millions each year.
With decades of combined expertise in Marine Science, Hydrobiology’s Specialist Teams continue to deliver collaborative services across the globe -from the poles to the equator, there is scarcely an ocean we haven’t explored!
This year’s United Nations World Oceans Day 2025 theme, “Planet Ocean: Tides are Changing,” underscores the urgent need to prioritise ocean health. In light of this, Hydrobiology believes this year’s message is more relevant than ever as we continue our diverse range of fieldwork across some of the world’s most extraordinary Marine Environments!
