At Hydrobiology, we’re proud to see our Team of experts contributing to meaningful conversations at the intersection of Science and Technology!
Our Senior Scientist, Dr. Frances Alexander (Environmental Risk Assessment Team), recently presented on “AI in Environmental Science” to Researchers at the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO).
Across a range of audiences and perspectives, Frances has been sharing a grounded view of how AI can be applied in real-world environmental work.
Rather than adding to the hype, Frances focused on practical integration, drawing on her own experience to demonstrate where AI can genuinely add value, and where caution is needed. The GOAL is simple: Enable informed decisions about how (and whether) AI fits into scientific workflows.
At Hydrobiology, we see AI not as a replacement for expertise, but as a tool that, when used well, enhances the capabilities of skilled Scientists. The real impact comes from combining strong technical knowledge with thoughtful application of emerging technologies.
Thank you to ANSTO and Tom Cresswell for the invitation and for the opportunity to engage with such an impressive and innovative research community!
