Hydrobiology is building on previous experience in the environmental risk assessment of repurposing decommissioned offshore oil and gas infrastructure, with a series of exciting new projects in this field. The safe use of underwater infrastructure as artificial reefs and habitat can literally bring new life to these structures. Assessing the risk to marine life associated with materials contained on and within offshore structures via toxicity or long-term stability, is a critical step in decontaminating and repurposing.
We bring together a range of expertise in ecotoxicology, marine ecology, physical oceanography and environmental chemistry, as well as collaborating closely with asset owners, engineers and other stakeholders to help progress this inspiring transition from industrial to environmental values for offshore oil and gas infrastructure.
