Hydrobiology has teamed up with SEAS Offshore to conduct a marine survey for a large offshore oil and gas operator. The baseline survey was designed to gather environmental data prior to the decommissioning of an offshore floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel. The impact assessment survey was conducted on board the Skandi Hercules (DOF Group) approximately 50km offshore from Exmouth, Western Australia. The sampling program included the collection of sediment samples via a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) and push corers. Water samples were collected at different water depth using a Seabird water carousel and GoFlo bottles. Water column profiles were collected using the Seabird SBE 19plus CTD. The photos show the CTD water sampling carousel, sediment core carousel, ROV, the laboratory and some of the animals found at depth ranging from 800-850m.
