Hydrobiology is seeking an experienced and dynamic Regional Manager to lead our Queensland business into its next phase of growth. As QLD Regional Manager, you’ll drive profitability and growth while building strong client relationships and positioning Hydrobiology as a leader in Environmental Consulting. Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Business & Financial Leadership– Responsible for developing and delivering the QLD Strategic Plan, managing budgets and financial reporting, achieving profitability and KPI targets, monitoring performance to drive improvements, and ensuring compliance with financial, taxation, and contractual requirements.
- Project Leadership– Oversee successful delivery of large, multidisciplinary projects by managing budgets, resources, and timelines, while providing leadership and guidance to staff to ensure quality outcomes and profitability.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement– Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships, identify growth opportunities, engage with regulators and industry partners, and lead or support negotiations and contract management.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship– Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships, identify growth opportunities, engage with regulators and industry partners, and lead or support negotiations and contract management.
Business Development & Marketing– Develop and implement business development strategies, lead tenders and client submissions, promote Hydrobiology’s expertise through publications and presentations, and enhance brand visibility and market presence. - Innovation & Research– Support R&D initiatives and tax applications, drive innovation through new services and solutions, integrate emerging technologies into practice, and collaborate with academic and research partners.
- Regulatory, Compliance & Health, Safety, Environment & Quality Systems (HSEQ)– Ensure compliance with environmental, financial, HR, and policy requirements, contribute to policy development and regulatory guidance, and implement and promote HSEQ standards aligned with ISO 9001 and ISO 45001.
- Business Systems & Strategic Leadership– Oversee development of business systems, contribute to organisational strategy and service growth, and provide strategic and financial advice to the Board and Executive team.

Qualifications & Essential Requirements:
Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years in professional Environmental Consulting or related Consulting Services.
- At least 5 years in a Senior Leadership/Management role.
- Postgraduate qualification in Environmental or Aquatic Sciences discipline.
- Demonstrated success and proven leadership skills, managing teams and services across diverse locations.
- Proven track record in business growth, business development, client engagement, and winning work.
- Demonstrated success managing budgets, operations, and complex projects.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
