Today, we celebrate “World Environment Day” with a small thank you to our people behind the science.
For 25 years, Hydrobiology has partnered with clients to understand, manage and reduce environmental risk through evidence-based advice across aquatic ecology, hydrology, environmental chemistry, risk assessment, and land and water management. Protecting and enhancing the environment isn’t just something we support on special occasions— it’s at the heart of what we do every day. Through our work, we help organisations make informed decisions that contribute to healthier ecosystems, sustainable development, and better environmental outcomes for future generations.
Led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and held annually on 5th June since 1973, World Environment Day is the largest global platform for environmental public outreach, engaging millions of people worldwide.
This year’s theme reminds us that we still have time to change course. The Earth is sending us signals. The question is: what signal are we going to send in return?
World Environment Day 2026 focuses on climate change— on the urgent signals the Earth is sending and the actions we choose to take in response. UNEP’s global campaign calls on all of us to step in #NowForClimate and help shape a more sustainable future. Climate change is no longer a future challenge; it is reshaping our world today.
At Hydrobiology, we see firsthand the importance of good science, informed decision-making and practical environmental stewardship. Every project is an opportunity to better understand and protect our natural environment while helping clients achieve sustainable, long-term outcomes.
We’re proud to work alongside organisations that recognise environmental stewardship is not just good for the planet— it’s essential for resilient communities, responsible development and lasting project success.
Happy World Environment Day 2026!
