World Environment Day is celebrated annually on June 5th since 1973. Led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), it has grown to be the largest global platform for environmental outreach. It is a global initiative that encourages awareness and action for the protection and preservation of the environment. The day serves as a reminder of the importance of environmental conservation and the need for sustainable practices to ensure a healthy planet for future generations.
Today on World Environment Day; Hydrobiology reflects more deeply on the role we play as Environmental Consultants within Australia, Singapore, Brazil and across the globe! The Republic of Korea will host World Environment Day 2025, with the focus theme: “Putting an End to Plastic Pollution” globally. Ridding the planet of plastic pollution is an important contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, including those on climate action, sustainable production and consumption, protection of seas and oceans and repairing ecosystems and retaining biodiversity.
At Hydrobiology, environmental sustainability is core to our business strategy and integrated into everything we do. We put health and safety first, we are environmentally aware and responsible, we respect human rights and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and we engage with our communities. It is our ongoing responsibility to continue to conserve nature and our resources, while protecting our global ecosystems to support environmental health and wellbeing, now and into the future, for generations to come!
