An exceptional opportunity exists for an experienced Senior or Principal Consultant to join our dynamic Land and Water Management Team in our Brisbane Office. Position Overview:
As a Senior Consultant within the Land & Water Management team, you will report to the Team Leader and play a key role in client relationships, project delivery, technical leadership, and client management. You will lead and contribute to a diverse range of projects, particularly focusing on:
- Natural Resource Management Strategy and Implementation
- Design and Application of Nature-Based Solutions for Waterways
- Stream Rehabilitation and Restoration
- Catchment and Waterway Management Planning
- Environmental offsets, impact assessment and approvals related to land and water
You will leverage your knowledge of the industry, and technical skills and experience to develop innovative solutions, manage projects, foster client relationships, and contribute to business development initiatives. You will be part of a supportive, high-performing team where your expertise and ideas are valued.
Essential Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven track record (e.g., preferably 7+ years) in a related role, with significant experience in natural resource management, nature-based solutions, and/or catchment/waterway rehabilitation. Less experience may be considered for the right applicant.
- Demonstrated experience working on related projects
- Strong technical understanding and practical application skills in relevant disciplines (e.g., fluvial geomorphology, hydrology, catchment processes and management, ecology, economics, soil science)
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects, manage budgets and timelines, and deliver high-quality technical outputs.
- Excellent communication, technical writing, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Experience in leading field investigations, environmental monitoring, and data analysis.
- Willingness to travel and undertake fieldwork as required.
- Demonstrated ability to transfer skills to other projects and industries (e.g., mine closure, diversions, renewable energy).
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (Bachelor degree minimum, postgraduate preferred) in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geography, or a related discipline.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Advanced knowledge of GIS and spatial analysis.
- Demonstrated experience with, or knowledge of, data-driven technologies and advanced analytical tools.
- Experience in mentoring junior staff.
- Experience contributing to tenders and proposals.
